Crispy Flatbread Brie Cranberries features a delightful combination of warm melted brie, tart dried cranberries, toasted almonds, and a drizzle of honey atop crisp flatbreads. This quick and easy appetizer offers a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, ideal for entertaining or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

Base

  • 2 flatbreads or naan

Cheese

  • 115 grams brie cheese, sliced

Toppings

  • 30 grams dried cranberries
  • 30 grams sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Finishing

  • 15 milliliters olive oil
  • 15 milliliters honey
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Pinch of cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 200°C (about 400°F) and prepare a baking sheet by placing the flatbreads evenly spaced on it.
  2. Brush with olive oil: Lightly coat each flatbread’s surface with olive oil to ensure even crisping and to enhance flavor during baking.
  3. Add toppings: Distribute the sliced brie cheese evenly across the flatbreads. Then sprinkle dried cranberries, toasted almonds, and if desired, fresh thyme leaves for an herbaceous note.
  4. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the brie melts fully and flatbread edges turn a golden crisp.
  5. Finish and serve: Remove from the oven, drizzle with honey for sweetness, and season lightly with sea salt and cracked black pepper. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature for a perfect appetizer experience.

Notes

  • Use naan or any thin flatbread for the best crispiness.
  • To toast almonds, place them in a dry skillet over medium heat and stir frequently until golden and fragrant.
  • Fresh thyme is optional but adds a lovely herbal aroma.
  • Serve immediately for optimal texture, though leftovers can be reheated briefly to refresh the crisp.
  • Adjust honey drizzle to taste for desired sweetness balance.
